As many of you may know Green Label Organic is based in rural Floyd, VA. You can learn more about our amazing town here and here. Floyd is also home to another conscious and sustainable organization called Spikenard Farm Honeybee Sanctuary. Like Green Label Organic, Spikenard is headed up by yet another successful husband-wife team, Gunther and Vivian Hauk. Spikenard's mission statement includes:
Spikenard Farm Honeybee Sanctuary was born out of the realization that something had to be done for the honeybees and the Earth to ensure that future generations will witness this marvelous insect, so important to our life and our beautiful planet. The honeybees are much more than pollinators or honey producers. They are part of the complex living organism of the earth and integral to our development as human beings. Our vision is to inspire in young and old not only interest, joy and love, but also a new understanding and awareness for the importance of this magnificent, but very vulnerable creature.
We not only salute Gunther and Vivian for the great work they are doing, but also because they made the conscious choice to go organic, and support local business by choosing Green Label Organic to produce their organization's custom organic cotton t-shirts. Spikenard understands the choices they make impact people’s lives, and the communities and environment they live in. Whether it’s educating folks on the importance of honeybees, or organic and biodynamic farming practices, Spikenard Farm Honeybee Sanctuary is an important thought leader in today’s challenging and ever-changing times.
You can support Spikenard Farm Honeybee Sanctuary by checking out their new t-shirts HERE. While you’re at it check out our honeybee related Respect Labor t-shirts for Men and Women. Either way, you will be supporting conscious and sustainable business practices right here in America.
At Green Label Organic we don’t usually go out of our way to plug other businesses, but occasionally we hear of a business doing great things and feel inspired to help promote them. Greenbelly is a new and fast growing company in the ‘Energy Bar” category. Greenbelly is no ordinary energy or protein bar. The Greenbelly company produces bars [...]
There is a lot of hype about the upcoming movie A Walk in the Woods which is based on author Bill Bryson’s best-selling book.
