Floyd, a small mountain community located in Southwest Virginia along the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Crooked Road Music Trail, is now known for many things. It was recently voted one of the 10 best southern small towns by USA Today and was mentioned by Mother Earth News as one of the six Great Places You’ve (Maybe) Never Heard Of.
Floyd, also known for its vibrant community of artists, musicians, craftsman and entrepreneurs, even has a book detailing the lives of many of its most respected community members. Floyd Folks: Collective Wisdom from a (One Stoplight) Mountain Community can be found at many of the local businesses in Floyd or on the web at Amazon.com.
As if this isn't enough notoriety for a small mountain town, Floyd is now part of the exclusive list of Tesla Charging Station locations! Yes, folks, if you have a Tesla (and who doesn't) and you find yourself in rural Southwest Virginia, stop by Hotel Floyd to charge your car and stay the night to charge your own batteries while you're at it. But, promise us you'll stop by Green Label Organic and check out our sustainable threads before you leave town; we'd love to see a real Tesla in person!
